Wisconsin Rapids Explorer Post 195 has been in existence since October 1987. We have had one advisor for that entire time. We were chartered in 1987 to CBM Computer Center. When that business was sold in 1991 we were then chartered by Northwoods Enterprises. Northwoods Enterprises was a software development company near Wisconsin Rapids. We were then chartered by Wood County Telephone Company (now dba Solarus) in 1996 and have been there since.
We have been involved in many activities. We have attended a number of National Explorer Leadership Conferences, Area Conferences on Exploring, Council Events, and many Post activities.
Each year we go on a 'SuperActivity' which is an overnight activity. Many times this includes a trip to Six Flags Great America.
We also have built Pinewood Derby Timers of our own design. We are currently working on a new model.
We are currently also working on a program to track and report on Adult Training for our local District and may make that available to any other districts, councils, etc. that may want it.
